What is the best before date?
The best before date indicates the month and day by which a food should be used or frozen. This date assures the safety and freshness of an unopened package of meat. Once the package has been opened, the product should be used within 3 to 5 days.

Why can't I find the best before date?
We follow the standard guidelines for code dating in the Canadian Food and Drug Act. Products that have a longer shelf life, such as frozen foods, and shelf-stable products like Schneiders Hot Rods, are not required to have a best before date. These products have a production code stamped on the packaging that identifies the date of production.

What does the production code mean?
The first three numbers of the four-digit production code refer to the consecutive day of the year and the last number represents the last digit of the year. For example, if the number 2536 appears on a product, it means it was produced on the 253rd day of the year 2006, which is September 10, 2006.

Is nutritional information available on all your products?
Yes, nutritional information is available for our products. Our labelling is in accordance with the new Government Nutrition Labelling format implemented in December of 2005.

What are the key nutrients found in meat?
Meats are rich in protein, and are sources of iron, zinc, thiamine, niacin, and vitamin B12.

How do I read the nutrition panel?
The Nutrition Facts panel shows the actual amount of a nutrient and the percentage that one serving would provide as part of Health Canada's recommended daily amounts. All prepared foods in Canada are required to have a Nutrition Information panel similar to this one.

Do you have coupons available?
We occasionally offer cents-off coupons in local flyers and in grocery stores. In addition we suggest that you watch for special sales or promotions at your local store. We unfortunately do not have coupons available upon request.

What does the UPC look like?
This is a typical product UPC - Universal Product Code. All numbers shown, including the smaller left and right numbers make up the full UPC for a product.

Do your products have heating instructions?
We provide cooking or heating instructions for products that require them, along with options for which appliance to use. Not all products are suitable for all cooking appliances, so be sure to read preparation instructions carefully.

Can you help me understand the ingredient list?
Ingredients are listed in order of prevalence from the ingredient with the highest content to the ingredient with the lowest.
